Chris Brown pleads guilty to assaulting a man in a hotel

Rapper Chris Brown was sentenced to prison time already served, after pleading guilty to beating a man outside a hotel in Washington DC when he was still on probation for abusing his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown punched a person trying to be photographed with him last October after leaving a luxury hotel in downtown Washington.

The singer was arrested two days because at that time he was on probation.

At the final hearing today, Brown pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault.

Brown spent several months in a California prison this year for violating the terms of probation he got after being accused of hitting in 2009 to singer Rihanna, with whom he had a relationship.

At a hearing today in Washington, Danny Onorato, counsel for the rapper, 24, argued that Brown had received a harsh punishment in California and has undergone psychological treatment for their violent behavior.

The lawyer said the singer has had to suspend her career for almost a year for his trouble with the law.

Brown only intervened at the hearing today to apologize for his behavior and quickly left the court without addressing the media.
